Whilst Kyle was meeting his mom and getting settled in Otherworld, Z was going through training with her dad and visiting Uncle G as promised. She continued to grow stronger with her healing and fighting abilities. This led to her discovering new powers she’s never seen. “Come on Z guard this attack with what you’ve got!” Her dad yelled from the other side of the training room. He fired a beam of light in her direction. Z took a slight hop forward and placed her hands in front of her as if to catch the attack coming toward her. A bright yellow aura starts to outline her body, the blast lands causing smoke to stir up. Once the smoke cleared both Z and the training dummy looked as if they revived not even a scratch. “Great job Z, looks like your guard is becoming stronger by the day.” They finished training there and went back upstairs for breakfast. After showering and getting changed, Z grabbed her phone and texted Kyle. This would be the second time she’s done it that day but he hadn’t responded. The text read: “Hey dumbass I’ve been getting stronger lately. When you come back we should spar. I'll win this time.” She sent the text and went to eat with her family. A little later Z went outside the front door. She went to the side of the house where there was a ladder waiting. She climbed up the ladder to the roof and sat there for a little while. Thinking about everything that happened in the past week after Kyle left. They’ve been together since they were kids and have hardly ever been apart, so now that Z had no idea if he would return or not it threw her off in a way that has never happened to her before. An hour passed and she thought to herself that even if he didn’t come back she would still support him. Z went back in the house and grabbed her bag for school. “I’m leaving!” She yelled up the stairs before going back out of the front door. After her classes Z went to the restaurant she and Kyle went to before to talk. She sat at the same table too and ordered the same thing as usual, “I need to visit the hospital.” The trip there was longer than normal, she had no idea what the otherworld looked like and who that person was who took Kyle. Pulling into the parking lot Z cleared her mind of everything that wasn’t uncle G for right now. Arriving at his room she knocked then entered. “Uncle G, hey I’m back again to see if you’re okay.” Uncle G was still unconscious. “I really hope you wake up soon. I think Kyle might be slipping away from us, but he’s doing well and has gotten very strong. He just might leave us behind in the process.” Z waited for the nurse to come back in the room before leaving the hospital. Making the decision to become stronger to stay at the same level as Kyle so they'll always be close. She started devoting more time and effort into training, finding whatever weaknesses she could and fixing them. This gave her a new sense of motivation. In a week's time she’s found a new level to her abilities while simultaneously keeping up her martial arts. “Great job Z, I’m very impressed with your effort lately!” Z’s dad said to her while placing his hand on her shoulder. “Now I’m certain that you can reach a level me and your mother could not.” The accuracy of her piercing light is almost to a point where she would be able to end anyone with their guard down. When training was over Z took a break in her usual spot on the roof and stared up at the sky. “I’m going to get there soon.” She says to herself while starting to smile a bit.
chapter 8
The morning after Kyle was settled into his new home, he was scheduled for a private training session with Kerrington before school. “To start off your training you will need to learn the basics. Since you weren’t raised here you don’t have the basic knowledge everyone else does. Of course you make up for it with pure ability and fighting experience because of your martial arts training” Kerrington had him sitting on the floor while he gave his speech. “So the first thing is gauging your stamina level.” Kyle looked up confused by what he meant. “Do I need to be able to run far or something?” He ignorantly asked, relying on his earth definition of the word. “Stamina level is your ability to draw Mana particles from the air as you breathe. In order to gauge your ability you first need to get the concept of passively mana breathing.” He sat down in front of Kyle and started what seemed to be meditation. “Now Kyle, use your Ruby eyes to see the mana particles through the air I’m breathing in.” As commanded he used his eye ability and saw multi colored particles that were floating through the entire training facility. “Do you see them?” Kyle nodded, “Ok, so the way your stamina level affects your fighting ability is not about how powerful you can fight but how long you can fight for. Just start by breathing manually. Feel out the mana in your body and start to slowly add the mana around you to what you’ve already felt. Kyle started to let his mind drift while just focusing on his breathing. Slowly but surely he was feeling the mana he already had building as the particles in the air were added continuously to him. Kerrington, who watched over him, was stunned to see him quickly adapt the simple method and use it more effectively than those who were raised in the otherworld. “Now that you have a grasp on that, start to coat the outer layer of your body with your mana. Be careful not to overly release it that’ll cause you to go out of control like what happened at your house. Put just a thin layer around yourself. That’ll give you the ability to passively gain mana.” Kyle adjusted his hands and began to flow some of the mana out of him and traced his body mentally with it. Within a few seconds he was finished and opened his eyes. “Did I do it?” He glanced over at where Kerrington was standing. “Yes you completely controlled your mana and encased yourself with it. We will stop here so you can get to the school on time.” Kyle went back to his apartment to shower and get dressed. After he got dressed he went down to the entrance where a black truck was parked waiting. The windows were tinted to where you couldn’t see through. The passenger window rolled down, there was a man who looked like he should’ve been a part of the secret service in the driver's seat. “Kyle? Please get in, I'm your driver from here on sent by the madam herself.” Kyle got his bag and got in the car. He was very confused; he never saw himself as someone who needed a driver or special treatment. It’s something to get used to but not a complaint in the slightest, he sat back and enjoyed the ride. After a few minutes the car came to a slight stop, “Kyle we have arrived.” He sat up and began to open the door to the car. A flood of people stopped in their tracks and turned to him. After exiting the car there were a lot of eyes on him, he tried to act like he didn’t notice but it was very obvious. Once Kyle got inside the school he went to the door on his left as he was instructed to do upon arrival. There was a slightly smaller and older man at the desk who looked up when he saw Kyle enter. “The streaks of white in your hair… Are you Mr. Vanguard?” Kyle shook his head in agreement. “Yes sir, that's me and you are?” The man stood up and walked from behind the desk, “Cristian Dragonclaw, Director of Burnrich Academy” He reached out to shake his hand, Kyle met him and shook his hand. “Are you all settled here in the area? If there’s something you need to know, don't be afraid to ask. I'll make sure to get you the information.” Kyle smiled politely, “No sir I’m completely comfortable I’m just glad to pursue an education.” The director laughed and walked over to the door. “Well let’s get you to class then.” He walked him down a long hallway to a set of double doors. He opened them to show a lecture hall and in the seats were about 30 students and what looked to be a professor at the front. The director walked in and interrupted, “Excuse me sir I’m here to bring your newest student.” He said waving Kyle in the room. He walked in and stood at the front with Mr.Dragonclaw, “I’ll leave him in your care let me know if there’s something else that needs to be arranged I’ll get some people on it.” With those words he left the room and everyone in the room went silent as if waiting for Kyle to say something. The professor turned to the class and began to speak, “This here is Mr. Kyle Vanguard please raise your hand if there is any space near you so he can be seated.” He said ready to move forward. Five hands went up around the room, Kyle looked around and saw bright pink hair near the back of the room. The person who the hair was attached to seemed to be unconcerned with the attention everyone else had in mind. Kyle decided to go sit next to her, when he got to the seat she scooted a bit to make room for him to sit. Once he was seated the professor started up once again. “Well today is very important as most of you know, we will begin combat sparring to get our rankings in order for the upcoming burnrich tournament at the end of the month. Please take your battles seriously and don’t worry about safety there will be teachers and medical staff on standby.” The room rose in chatter when he mentions the sparring. “If there are no questions please head out to the training hall and take preparations. Everyone got up and started walking to the hall. The girl who was next to Kyle walked up to him, “So you’re the Queen's son? Has everyone been staring at you?” She asked with a small laugh, Kyle returned the gesture and answered her question, “No one came to talk to me yet but I’m sure I’ll get some unwanted attention here soon. I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name.” He paused and waited for her to answer. “Sky Wildfire, I’m sure you know my brother he’s the lead assistant to the throne Kerrington.” Kyle had a shocked look on his face. “WOW, you look nothing like your brother. But either way it’s nice to meet you.”
chapter 9
After a short walk they arrived at the training ground. The people who were there earlier had already gathered around. Sky and Kyle walked in together seeming to cause some whispers to start around them. Once everyone came into the training hall the professor began to speak. “Alright now that everyone is here I’ll start listing the groupings. It will be a one on one battle; the first person to either register their opponent unable to continue or make them surrender will be declared the winner.” He began calling the matchups to fight. The battles were very quick and not many of them had fighting experience but had interesting powers. Kyle was taken aback to see how normal abilities of this nature were to this world. Eventually it was Sky’s turn to compete and she was fighting a boy who seemed to be confident in his abilities. “I’ll take the top 3 this year Sky , don't you worry.” The past few years Sky has beaten him for the top 3 spot and has yet to lose to him. “William Striker, I’ve yet to lose to you and I don’t think it will end today.” The professor signaled for the match to begin, and within the first second William dashed in closing the distance between the two of them. His outer layer of mana started to become visible as he released more of it to strengthen himself. Sky however had not moved from the starting spot and looked unfazed by his attempt to jump in. William stepped to the left of Sky and was in arms reach. He leaped a little further to start his attack. A cherry blossom colored explosion came from where he was trying to attack. When the smoke cleared William had taken some damage and jumped back while Sky remained unharmed at all. Without wasting a breath she pointed her finger upward causing another explosion from right where William was standing to appear. He dashed back and to the left barely avoiding the chain of power moves Sky was bombarding him with. The matchup between the two of them was very much in her favor as William, being a close distance fighter, had no way to get close enough to her without taking damage. He dodged another set explosion as soon as he got his footing however Sky raised her palm to the ceiling beginning a different attack. “The cuts of 1000 roses.” She said softly while swiping her hand diagonally in William’s direction. Her ability spawned rose petals all around the area they were in. Every time a petal came in contact with his body it left a cut dealing more damage to his already wounded body. Darting left and right William kept taking cuts, as there was no escapee for him. He backed up and raised both of his arms over his head, “I surrender” he said sighing in disappointment. Kyle was amazed at her abilities seeing as she could beat a strong opponent without taking a step. Sky walked back over to him and started to grin, “I know I’m impressive, no need to stare that hard.” She chuckled softly and Kyle smiled and rolled his eyes to her comment. “So what does being top 3 get you in the school anyway.” Sky turned and responded as if it was no concern to her. “Basically you just get to represent the school in the tournament and here at the school it’s just to establish a pecking order to those who like to cause trouble.” Kyle didn’t have a choice but to participate in the tournament considering he’s the newly returned prince of the capital but the pecking order sounded different than what he was used to. The professor stepped back into the battle area and announced the next two names , “Kristine Dragonclaw and Kyle Vanguard please enter the battle area.” Kyle stepped up to the area and looked around to see where his opponent would come from. Then directly to his north he saw a taller girl with fully silver hair walk through the crowd of people to the battle area. The crowd around them started whispering about her, seeming to know that she was strong. The professor spoke briefly again, “This is the last battle of the day. Tomorrow we will start ranking matches for the top 10. With that being said our last years #1 and our new prince will end the battles for today.” Kyle raised his eyes hearing that she was the number one last year but he got prepared to battle her anyway. Kristine stepped up and waited for the signal as well. The professor gave the signal for the battle to begin, they both darted in to close the distance on each other. Kyle threw a high kick while Kristine threw a straight punch. Both of them block the attack thrown. After stepping back Kristine’s eyes started turning a royal blue as she activated her lightning abilities. The next move from her was about twice as fast now that she enhanced her physical ability with her powers. Kyle was on his back foot dodging the flurry of kicks and punches being thrown at him. With the last punch dodged he dashed back and activated his own abilities. Both of his eyes turned ruby, and he took a deep breath enhancing his stamina. Kyle started his attack by hyper stepping in front of her. Startled by his sudden speed change Kristine tried to speed to the left. Kyle used his Ruby Eyes to copy her ability speeding in the Same direction. Now that he has come into contact with her he can use the same moves she can. Kristine became flustered by his sudden mimicry and threw a flashpoint in his direction. The lighting closed in on Kyle but he used his own version of her ability to cancel it out. Kyle started getting the hang of her abilities in tune with his own. He closed his fist and used his other two fingers to draw the lightning out of his and create a blade with it. Kristine was utterly distraught as to how he knew how to use lightning manipulation to this degree. Not letting it show she sped towards him trying to overwhelm him with attacks. Kyle dodged, blocked and parried her constant attacks. After partying her last attempt he found an opening to counter and hit her with a spinning back kick to her stomach knocking her backwards. The people watching were in shock seeing someone known to be unbearable kneeling after taking an attack head on. Kyle waited for her to respond. Kristine wasn’t able to, the pain from the kick she received was almost enough to knock her unconscious. Kristine raised her hand and surrendered. The professor called the battle, “With that today's matches concluded we will begin the top ten matches tomorrow.” Kyle walked over to where Kristine was and offered her a hand up. “I’m sorry if that kick was a little much.” She took his hand to stand up. Without even accepting his apology she asked, “How did you copy my abilities? No one has ever been able to copy and use them to that degree before.” Kyle told her about his own abilities and how he could copy the abilities he’s felt before. The conversation wasn’t long but after Kyle walked over to where Sky was and she was standing in shock. “Don’t stare too hard.” He said mockingly as he walked over to her. “You didn’t tell me you were that strong. I'm just glad you won’t be fighting tomorrow.” Kyle looked back confused by her statement. “I won’t fight Tomorrow?” It’s not that he wanted to fight again, he just assumed everyone would have to be ranked. “No you won’t, now that you’ve beaten the previous number 1 you take the spot and everyone else fights for 2-10. Be careful Kristine tends to hold grudges.” Sky smiled as she said it, they started waking out of the training hall and went to the front of the building.
chapter 10
The professor ended class for the day to insure everyone who was injured or hurt in any way was treated before they left. “Kyle, I think you should be a little more excited right now. I mean, you just beat the number one fight in our school.” Sky was right but Kyle has never taken a fight for more than what it’s worth. The battle with Kristine was harder than he thought but it also helped him gauge his own powers. “Yea I’m actually stronger than I thought. I haven’t been able to test my abilities since I’ve gotten them in a real battle so that was educational to say the least.” They soon reached the front entrance of the building. Right by the front office stood Kristine posted up against the door waiting. She saw Kyle walk and stood up right and grabbed his attention. “Kyle, right? I wanted to talk to you before you left. You were able to use lightning manipulation. You even bested me with it, is there something you could relay to me ?” She stood there kinda nervously but eager to hear his response. Kyle looked confused but gathered himself to answer. “You’re very strong and I cannot deny you’ve mastered what you can use now. I just got a little creative with your ability, it seems really fun to use so you should have fun with it too.” Her posture relaxed but almost in a disappointed way. Kristine was expecting a deeper analysis of her abilities but all she was told was to “have fun” in a fight. It caused her to laugh out of disbelief. “Wait, your last name is Dragonclaw right? So you’re related to the director?” Sky started laughing and Kristine smiled and shook her head in disbelief. a“Yes, that's my father, did you not notice the silver hair?” They all shared a laugh and walked out of the school where Kyle’s driver was waiting with the door open. “Kyle, your mom has called for you if you would please.” He gestured to the car. Sky grabbed his arm quickly before he walked off “Hey, let me give you my number. I don’t wanna meet you everytime I see my brother.” They exchanged phone numbers and Kyle got in the car right after. He took the car ride to reflect on the moments prior. “That's the first time a girl asked me for my number.” He said, chuckling to himself. Eventually they arrived at the capitol building. Kyle walked inside and approached the desk he saw yesterday. “Hello, I’m here to see my mother.” The lady looked up from her screen and her eyes widened upon seeing him. “Mr. Vanguard, you don’t have to check in here. Your mom is in her office waiting for you.” Kyle politely nodded and headed towards the elevator. He was sure she just wanted to hear about if he was settling in. Getting off the elevator and walking down the hallway once again to see the big set of white doors in front of him. This time however, the door was unlocked, he slowly opened the door to see his mom look up from the couch in her office. “Kyle, come in I was waiting for you. Did you need something to drink? I can have someone bring it up here.” Kyle walked in and sat down across from her on the other couch. “Hey mom, I’m a little thirsty, water is fine though. Did you need me for something Important?” She grabbed her phone and made the call for Kyle’s water, then sat back up to talk to him. “Yes I wanted to hear about your first day here and answer any questions you might have about living here.” Kyle began explaining the details of his day, starting with his learning of mana breathing and beating Kristine making him the best fighter in the school as of current. Kim listened eagerly, not trying to seem too excited for him but a sense of pride filled her heart. Kyle finished his recap of the first day and then they moved to the next topic. “Kyle do you have any questions for me? I want to be very upfront with you, I know I’ve missed a lot and I want to give you a clear explanation if that’s what you want.” The concern was clearly visible on her face. Kyle sat back and pondered what he wanted to really know. A few thoughts crossed his mind, but there was one thing that stuck with him whenever he met his mom again. “What made you bring me to earth where you’d possibly never see me again?” Kim’s face dropped but she knew the question was coming. Sighing she sat up and began to explain why. “When you were born it caused an uproar between the two realms. There was a lot of tension and uncertainty when it came to what to do with you since you aren’t fully on one side. Your father was a proud warrior of the royalist nation of high humans. For that reason the high council at the time of your birth did not wish to raise someone of half blood. Your father, being the proud man he is, Wished to fight to raise you in the otherworld, so I decided to use royalty to make a comfortable place for you. However one night my older brother decided to bring a group of assassins to my home to get rid of you to bring peace to the family.” The memory of that night flashed in her mind between her retelling it. The night was unlike any other to start. Newborn Kyle was already asleep and Kim was sitting in her room decompressing from the long day of meetings and arguing for a normal living situation. Finally settled into her chair, the sound of windows shattering overthrew the house. She panicked, grabbing her sword first and running to the next room over where Kyle was sleeping. Upon entering the room she saw two shadowy figures standing over Kyle’s crib. Without hesitation she threw her sword, piercing the first person by him. Sprinting to the second person, one landing a crushing blow to their liver. After dealing with those two the sound of countless footsteps ran rapidly through the house. Kim thought quickly grabbing Kyle and a blanket and jumped out of the already broken window. She landed embracing the fall into the snow. Shaking off the cold and making sure Kyle was covered she ran into the forest calling Adam wildfire on the way through. “Adam! I need a portal in the red forest, I can’t explain why right now. Make sure it’s in front of a house.” Within minutes a portal was placed in front of her location. Kim arrived at the portal and considered for a second going through the portal to take care of him. She could hear the assassins jumping through the trees after her. The pain grew in her heart but she knew what was best and placed Kyle through the portal and turned back to face the battle that awaited her.
chapter 11
Shortly after placing him in the portal four assassins hopped down from the tree above her. “I can assume my brother put you up to this?” There was no response. They all pulled out weapons preparing for the fight ahead. Kim took her stance and braced for the inevitable. The first two lunged toward her, one throwing his dagger while the other continued forward. With no hesitation in her movement she intercepted the charging assassin, grabbing the arm that held his weapon and using the other hand to crush his rib with a punch. With one down she turned her attention back to the others farther back. They all attacked simultaneously and in unison. Kim was mostly defensive, taking a few scratches from the slashes of the knives. She continued to back up until she reached a tree. Thinking she was cornered, the assassin to her left wildly threw a front kick mto which she caught. After catching it she used her elbow breaking his knee and then taking the others on now that it was more even. From the far left a shadow portal opened behind her. Coming out of it were 3 figures, two of which had on hoods and a woman who wasn’t covered with midnight purple hair. “Welcome to the party Mrs.Wildfire.” She said with a sigh of relief. Between the interactions the assassins after her were killed. “Are you okay madam?” All three of them ran over to the queen checking her wounds making sure she was ok. “What happened to the prince, is he somewhere else?” Mrs. Wildfire looked around to see if she could spot him. “No he’s somewhere in the earth realm right now. I made a decision but I’ll send someone to watch over him shortly. We have to get back and put an end to my brother's shit.” Kim finished bandaging her arm and took the rest of the group back to the house. Kyle sat back in shock hearing the story his mother told him. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know the sacrifice you made in order to keep me safe. Mrs. Wildfire is that the mother of Sky and kerrington?” His mother nodded. “Kyle with the tournament coming up you’ll need to make sure you sharpen your sword skills. There won’t be nearly as many rules in that as you have in school. Have Kerrington up your sword training starting tomorrow okay?” Kyle saw the worry come across her face so he reassured her that he would train hard. After leaving the capitol he had the driver take him to the training facility where he asked Kerrington to meet him. When he arrived at the facility he saw a text had come through his phone. “I’ll be a little late, you should be able to get in through the facial recognition system.” Kyle approached the door. As soon as he stepped on the platform in front of him a scanner came out from the ceiling and began to scan his face. The process took a few seconds but eventually it flashed a green light and welcomed him. “Good evening Prince Vanguard unfortunately only half of the room is available for your usage. The cause, another authorized person is using the facility.” Kyle was a little confused. He wondered who else would be here today. The door opened for him and he walked in glancing around the room and on his right he saw a familiar trait. Fire red hair and of course it was Sky using the training bots. With a Sabre in her right hand she flashed past the bots in front of her, slicing them cleanly in half. Kyle was shocked seeing a very lightweight blade make such clean cuts. Sky finished the set of training bots and took a break, not noticing Kyle watching. Kyle approached her, grabbing her attention with a slow clap. “Wow, I knew you were fast but not that fast.” Sky jumped a bit. “Were you watching that whole time?” She said with an embarrassed expression. Kyle nodded and pulled out the jet back katana in his bag. “Think you could let me train with you until Kerrington gets here? I have to get better with a sword, I’m not the best with it.” Sky agreed to let him join the training. The bots reset and Kyle stepped up first this time. The buzzer sounded and Kyle jetted to the first target, slicing the head off of it. The next cut Clean diagonally and the third cut with two diagonal slashes. Sky could tell he was a prodigy but his cuts weren’t as consistent as hers. “Good job the only thing I’d say is try and make your other slashes the same as your first in terms of speed and accuracy. It’ll take practice but eventually you’ll be able to do this!” She flashsteps past the three bots, as soon as she reached the other side of them they all split in half the same way. Kyle was really in awe of her sword skill. “So how do I practice to get them the same like that?” He asked her. Sky stepped up and stepped closer to him and pointed her blade straight up. “First you need to feel your blade out and make sure you understand its strengths and weaknesses. After that your sword should feel like an extension of your arm making it move exactly as your brain wants it to.” She closes her eyes and slashes in random places. “Start by meditating and emptying your brain of all things but your sword.” Kyle walked over to the wall and sat with his back against it and placed his sword in his lap. Closing his eyes he began to take slow and long breaths, emptying the thoughts of anything else but his sword. After a few seconds the air around him started to change and his consciousness went somewhere else. Wherever he was was empty except for the small amount of water at his feet. Kyle began walking forward. The sound of the water rippling below him echoed through the area he was in. Nothing came to view for the few feet he could see in front of him. A voice shot through the darkness very clear but not very loud. “Hello Kyle. I thought it would be a few months before you would join me here.” Kyle looked around to try and pinpoint where the voice was coming from. “Keep walking forward, you'll see me soon enough.” He followed the instructions and walked some more. After a few steps the darkness burned away and became a starlit sky. In front of him was a pedestal on it was the katana which he was using just before. “Welcome Kyle, I’m the blade born from the stars. Crafted to conquer everything in the cosmos. Now come closer, it’s time to see if you’re worthy of my help.”
chapter 12
Kyle slowly approached the pedestal holding the sword. The darkness around him made him feel uneasy, and he couldn’t see where he was stepping, making the feeling worse. “No need to be afraid, come on and grab the sword.” The voice continued to encourage him. He eventually reached the sword and slowly grabbed it with both hands. As soon as he held it, a surge of unfamiliar energy coursed through him. The voice bursted out in laughter. “Of course it only makes sense you’re her son.” Kyle knew he was talking about his mom but wasn’t sure why. “Is this my moms sword?” He asked genuinely unsure. The foreign energy subsided for the time being. “No, this sword belonged to her brother. However she was the one who sealed it.” The voice sounded resentful upon saying that. “I don’t bear any ill will towards you, it’s been years since that incident and if she gave the sword to you it can only mean you have the power to wield it. So how do you feel about working with me?” Kyle was unsure of all the information he was given but didn’t see an issue with taking the sword that was entrusted to him. “Are you okay with helping the son of someone who sealed you?” Kyle asked the voice reluctantly. There was a pause in between the question, and it made Kyle a little uneasy. “I have no problem supplying my power to someone worthy of it.” The voice finally answered. “If you’re prepared I’ll give you some information about me before we work together. The black katana you’ve wielded up until now is not my true form. The power I have is beyond space and time. I have a consciousness of my own so you will not need to have me around. I can be summoned at will. I am called Tsuinhoshi or in your language Twin star blade.” The jet black sword in his hand began to crack from the handle. It slowly began to crack all the way to the top of the blade almost like a butterfly leaving its cocoon. Underneath the cracks a bright blue light started to creep through. Kyle started to feel the blade shake in his hands. The outer black layer started falling off to reveal a golden handle and royal blue blade. Kyle was taken aback by the sheer beauty of the sword held in his hand. “Now in order to complete our partnership you need to allow me access to your subconscious. There can be no hesitation or else it won’t work. Here we go.” The same foreign energy as before shot up Kyle’s arm. A lot more intense than before. The feeling made its way through the right half of his body from the top of his head down his right leg. His right eye, which was a ruby color, dispersed and returned to normal. “The process is complete, I’ll be able to communicate with you telepathically like this from now on and you can summon me at will. Before you return to your consciousness, explain to me, what is your end goal?” Honestly Kyle had never thought too much into the future when he came to Otherworld. The main purpose was to meet his mom and learn about the powers that suddenly appeared before him. Now he is about to become prince of a place he’s never seen until these last couple of weeks. However Kyle doesn’t feel lost here, he feels comfortable with no one keeping their distance from him for being a little different. With all those things he answered, “I don’t have a super end goal right now but I would like to be a good prince to this place for the time being.” Tsuinhoshi laughed a little and sent him back to his body. “Kyle! Kyle, hey are you asleep?” He felt someone shaking him. He slowly opened his eyes, squinting because of the brightness of the training facility. “No I’m fine, can you stop shaking me?” Sky stepped back and her eyes were drawn to his eye color noticeably changed to the original brown. “Are you sure you’re okay?” Kyle noticed where she was looking and asked “Is there something in my eye ?” She grabbed her phone and showed him his reflection. Kyle looked at himself and jumped back at the sudden change of his eye color. He thought back to the energy shooting through his entire body and recalled the feeling in his eye as well. After taking a deep breath he stood up and grabbed his sword, but as soon as he picked it up the sword disappeared from his hands retracting to his consciousness. Sky jumped again, “Kyle, your sword disappeared, are you not surprised?” Kyle laughed to himself. He explained what happened while he was meditating, telling her everything that he saw and heard while there. She was still a little shocked but understood what happened. “If I wasn’t standing here I wouldn’t believe that you were actually this strong already but you now have a piece of legendary gear. I knew I couldn’t beat you before. I really don’t think I can now.” Sky said followed by a grin. They both gathered their stuff and left the training room. The sun had started to set, and Kyle was a little surprised noticing how much time had passed since he entered the facility. They kept walking to the front gate. Sky tapped his shoulder to grab his attention. “ Hey, there is a dessert place around the corner. Did you wanna stop for a little bit?” Kyle stood there exaggerating a pondering look but agreed, “Yea I could go for something sweet. Do they have a wide variety of sweets?” The two of them kept walking as she told him what all they had there. After about a 3 minute walk they stopped in front of a small building with the sign, “Treat Temple”, on the front of it.
